The Importance of Researching Before Reporting

The further into reporting I have gotten, the more I have realized the importance of researching prior to reporting.

For anything that I have covered, I have learned that my stories always come out better when I have researched the topic beforehand and have an idea of what the background information is before getting started.

When it came time to record the first episode of my podcast, I knew I wanted to do some research before getting started. This wound up making the podcast more reliable and allowed me to get in contact with expert sources along the way.

I began my research for the first episode of my podcast by learning why people want to decorate for the holidays and how budgeting can affect individuals when it comes time for extra holiday spending.

I found a plethora of information concerning organization on the WIPT Designs website. After spending time on the website, I reached out to the owner and secured an interview with her.

The information Beth shared on the podcast was invaluable and I am certain without prior research the podcast would not have been nearly as effective.

In the future, I’ll be sure to continue to research before I report in order to get the best story possible.
